What brand monitoring cannot see

Brand monitoring sees public content only. Brand24's help center says it collects mentions as long as the content is publicly available on the web. It collects from the moment a project starts and tries to add up to 30 days of history. It collects no posts from Facebook Groups, after Facebook's March 2018 API changes, and its terms do not promise that Brand24 finds every occurrence of a keyword.

A shop with one name and a handful of sources can start with Google Alerts and Talkwalker Alerts, which cost nothing. Move to a paid tool when you need sentiment, reach or reports that the free alert pages do not list.
