Talkwalker Alerts vs Google Alerts at a glance
Talkwalker Alerts and Google Alerts are both free, and they differ in what they search and how they deliver. Talkwalker names four result types: News, Twitter, Blogs and Discussion forums. Google's alert form offers a Sources menu with eight choices: Automatic, News, Blogs, Web, Video, Books, Discussions and Finance.
The paid step up, as read on October 24, 2026, is F5Bot Gold at $49.99 a month, billed monthly, or Brand24 Individual at $249 a month, billed monthly.

Talkwalker Alerts is available in 22 languages. Its page calls one source Twitter; the network is now X (formerly Twitter). Talkwalker says queries take Boolean operators, and that you can set alerts for a competitor's keywords as well as your own brand name.
Google's form adds a language list and a region list, each starting at "Any". Both pages list a discussion source, Discussions for Google and Discussion forums for Talkwalker, so neither page shows a gap on forums.
How alerts arrive and how often
Talkwalker Alerts arrive by email, RSS or a Slack integration, and they go to any email address, so a Google account is not needed. You pick how often alerts reach your inbox, and whether you want all mentions or only the ones with the most engagement. Talkwalker's own page warns that your inbox can be flooded during the day if you pair the fastest delivery with all mentions.
Google's form offers three rhythms: as it happens, at most once a day, or at most once a week. Its How many setting offers only the best results or all results. Talkwalker lets you preview an alert before saving it, then asks you to verify your email address.
Reddit, sentiment and reports: the next step up
For Reddit by name, F5Bot watches Reddit, Hacker News and Lobsters. Its free tier is for personal use, and Gold, at $49.99 a month, billed monthly, is the plan F5Bot describes for professionals and small businesses. Google Alerts alternatives lists the other swaps with prices.
Brand24 lists Reddit as a source on every plan. AI Sentiment Analysis, which labels each mention positive, negative or neutral, is on every plan too, as are daily and weekly email reports. Individual, at $249 a month, billed monthly, allows 3 keywords and 2K mentions a month.
When a paid tool earns a trial
Reasons to move to a paid tool are shared reports, faster alerts, more sources and several names to watch at once. Brand24's paid route starts with a 14-day trial that asks for no credit card and runs on Pro plan features, so it shows more than Individual would.
