BrandMentions review: who it fits and what each plan costs

BrandMentions is a paid social listening tool for a small business or small agency that tracks several names across social networks, news, blogs and forums. Pro lists 20 keywords and 30k mentions a month and costs $299 a month, billed monthly, as read on October 25, 2026.

A keyword is any word, phrase, hashtag or expression you track, such as a brand name or a competitor. A mention is a single result that contains one of your keywords, such as a social post, a news article or a blog entry. A project groups keywords for one topic, brand or campaign, and a user seat is one person with access to the workspace.

Starter's Monthly-view price is labeled billed quarterly, while the other Monthly-view prices are billed monthly. BrandMentions prints no yearly total, so the Annually figures are monthly rates, billed annually. BrandMentions pricing shows what each plan adds above Starter.

Sources BrandMentions watches on every plan

Every plan ticks the same eight source groups: social networks, short-form and discussions, video, communities, sites, blogs, news and forums. Its help center names Reddit, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram, Bluesky and public Facebook content as mentions. Review and app-store sites, such as Yelp and Tripadvisor, are additional sources on every plan.

Only public content counts: BrandMentions says it cannot track private accounts, closed groups or content behind a login, and its facts page adds private messages.

BrandMentions' help center and pricing page name no X (formerly Twitter) source, though a marketing answer on its alternatives page says it covers X. No BrandMentions page lists Hacker News as a source, so a job that is only Reddit and Hacker News fits F5Bot better.

Update speed, alerts and reports by plan

Starter updates daily, Pro hourly and Expert in realtime, which BrandMentions' help center puts at minutes to hours after a post appears. Alerts come as a new-mention alert or a Spike Alert, which fires only when conversation volume rises above a normal level. Both go by email, Slack, RSS or webhook.

Scheduled reports go out weekly or monthly as a PDF attached to an email, and email alerts can be daily or weekly. Sentiment analysis is basic AI on Starter and advanced AI from Pro. Boolean search, one query built with operators in place of plain keywords, is listed from Expert on the pricing page, and the API is on Enterprise only.

White-label reports start at Expert and carry your logo and brand colors in place of the BrandMentions name.

An agency that needs white-label reports or more than 2 seats needs Expert: $499 a month, billed monthly, or $399 a month, billed annually. Ask whether a client login is allowed, because the terms bar resale and third-party use.

BrandMentions limits, billing and refund terms

Starter, the entry plan, has no Boolean search, no filters and segments, no white-label reports and no API. Mentions reset every month, while projects, keywords and user seats are account limits. BrandMentions says it never charges more than the plan price and will contact you about an upgrade at the mentions limit, though its help center says collection may stop until the next billing cycle.

BrandMentions says its 7-day free trial gives full access to the app and its main features, and there is no free plan. The pricing page lists the trial under Starter, Pro and Expert. No page names the plan the trial runs on or any trial limit. BrandMentions' sign-up page says no credit card is required for the 7-day trial, while its terms say you will be billed automatically or prompted to enter payment details when the trial ends.

Fees are paid 100% in advance, and you cancel in the account, ahead of renewal. BrandMentions' FAQ says its support team will find the best solution if you are unhappy, while its terms say it is not required to refund any share of the subscription fee previously paid. The operator is GESKIMO SRL of Romania; is BrandMentions legit covers the company and its terms.

When Brand24, Awario or a free alert is the better buy

Pick BrandMentions Pro or Expert when 2 to 10 users are enough and keywords and mentions matter most. Pro lists 20 keywords and 30k mentions at $299 a month, billed monthly, where Brand24 Team lists 7 keywords and 10k mentions at $349 a month, billed monthly.
