Pro is $249 a month, billed annually, or $299 a month, billed monthly, for 20 keywords, 30k mentions, 2 users and hourly updates.

Each vendor counts its own unit: a keyword on BrandMentions (any word, phrase, hashtag or expression you track) and Brand24, a topic on Awario, a keyword rule on Mentionlytics, a filter on Syften. Brand24 and Awario: more users or more mentions

Brand24 Team is $349 a month, billed monthly, or $299 a month, billed annually, for 7 keywords, 10k mentions and updates every hour. Its draw is unlimited users, against 2 on BrandMentions Pro; see Brand24 vs BrandMentions.

Awario counts topics. A topic is a keyword or group of keywords you monitor, and each topic can hold unlimited keywords. Awario Starter has no data export or PDF reports; see BrandMentions vs Awario.

On update speed, BrandMentions Starter refreshes daily, Brand24 Individual every 12 hours, and Awario's pricing page prints no speed.

Mentionlytics and Octolens: more seats, metered mentions

Mentionlytics Essential has 10 users and updates every 6 hours. A keyword rule is a word or phrase, or a set of included and excluded keywords. At the limit, Mentionlytics warns you before mentions run out so that you can buy more.

Octolens Pro has unlimited team seats and hourly refreshes, and bills $0.013 per extra mention, with a monthly spend cap you can set. BrandMentions says it will never charge more than the plan price, though its help center says it may stop collecting new mentions at the limit until the next billing cycle.

Syften and F5Bot for Reddit and Hacker News

Syften names Reddit, Hacker News, X (formerly Twitter), Bluesky, Mastodon and YouTube among the communities it monitors. A filter is a search query for the mentions you want to track, and Entry allows 3 community filters.

F5Bot Gold, for professionals and small businesses, is $49.99 a month, billed monthly, with 200 keywords on Reddit, Hacker News and Lobsters. F5Bot Free is for personal use. BrandMentions' help center and pricing page name no Hacker News source, so a buyer who needs Reddit and Hacker News alone should pick F5Bot or Syften.

When BrandMentions stays the pick and who should pick each alternative

Keep BrandMentions when review and app-store sites belong in the same feed: Booking, Tripadvisor, Yelp, Google My Business and the App Store are listed as additional sources on every plan, Starter included. By our arithmetic on annual billing, BrandMentions Pro works out to $12.45 per keyword against $42.71 for Brand24 Team, though users and sources differ.
